Start of 2011...
The good and bad stuff...
Went to Ho Chi Minh for a really short trip (3D2N). It was tiring but quite a interesting trip. Really loved the War Remnants Museum but it was a really depressing place... because you read about all the torture and abuse of prisoners during the war and it's saddening to learn that some people can be just so sick. Although from the other perspective, I guess when you are undergoing war, people lose all rationale thoughts. It's hard to stay alive and I guess that idea of being alive and sense of superiority could have driven many to do insane acts.... sigh... This place reminds me of the atomic bomb museum in Hirsoshima... I just think it's sad and I wish all the leaders who have thoughts of war, could visit these museums and just think through all the suffering their people will have to go through if they start war all over again.
It's also sad that on the Tuesday I return office, I hear news that one of my colleagues, Lee Lee had departed for her place in heaven... I don't think I've been very nice to her when she was still around... and I regret that I haven't been kinder or got to know her better. Life is fragile... and a miracle... On Friday, Siti gave birth to her third child, a kawaii 2.8kg little boy...
It's only 17th January, but it feels like half the year has gone by with lots of things going on... sigh... can't say that I look forward to this 2011 very much.
