My last few hours in Japan

Hmm... after counting down to my trip to Japan just two weeks ago, I'm now down to my last few hours in Japan. Time flew by so quickly. Can't believe that I've been here for two weeks already. Wonder if I will still remember how to work when I am back in Singapore. Work seems so far away now. curious how the site assessment went.

This is it. My first backpacking trip. I know there were lots of screw-ups such as the stupid toner that leaked and wet my bag... the stupid weather that caused me so much hassle... the night trains that didnt work out... getting lost in osaka... the blisters... blah blah blah... now that I'm nearing the end of my trip, they are pretty memorable incidents which I am sure I will remember fondly later. I guess this trip was more of a photo-taking trip. travelled via trains a lot and it seems like I haven't done much shopping (except to buy two really expensive bags - Coach and North Face). Souvenirs from UNIQLO were the best I could get, though not very exciting. oops.

I'm trying to imagine going home after so long. I actually haven't called home at all throughout the trip. I'll probably call tmr before I board the plane. think my room may have undergone a revamp this period. recalled mum said something about changing the position of the bed or something. hmm...

Countdown 18 hours approximately to board the plane... home sweet home.

The series of unfortunate events (Continued or re-emphasized)

Have I mentioned to you that my Japan trip is cursed?

First my travel plans were almost disrupted with the rise in spread of H1N1 in Osaka and SEA site assessment being rescheduled. Although the plans were not disrupted, the mood was. Then my plans to monitor the currency and change at the optimum rates failed terribly. Basically after I changed my currency, the rates started dropping again.

Packed my luggage, after clearing some work, till 4.22am yesterday. Today, course ended late. By the time I went home, bathe, had dinner, packed my luggage, cleared work and shoot last minute arrows, I was late for my Harry Potter movie reservation. Fantastic. Then realised I forgot to bring washing powder for clothes and my bag strap came loose at the airport. and then my toner leaked in my bag so basically my clothes, my chargers and batteries were all wet and sticky (although they smelled fragrant like the toner). THIS SUCKS.

Is this the end of my misery? I hope no more unlucky events man. Feel like boxing somebody up already. Lousy pre-lude to supposedly great holiday.

The panda is going to board the plane now... bleah.

Getting Ready...

Sigh. Missed my harry potter afterall. Was too hopeful i guess. Tried the backpack and it was super heavy. Torn between whether to wear boots too. Painful decisions in the last min. Hmmm.

Lesson Learnt...

I've learnt that it's not always bad to act on impulse, plus never be greedy. If I had acted on impulse and be contented enough to change my currency one-two weeks ago, I would have saved quite a fair bit over the conversion. Just over the week, yen rose from 1.49 to 1.58. And I've actually monitored the transition and watch it rise uncontrollably. which is why I feel the pain even more now. Sigh. Bad karma I guess. maybe it's all the beef I've been eating by left. darn.

On another note, "Thank you" to TW and SC for treating me and Dawn to our bday dinner today. Even though I'm a low-inclusion person and want to be left out of most events, it was still nice of you to treat me. Since I'm a mid-expressed/wanted affection person, shall express my gratitude here. haha. :)

p/s for the clueless, I'm talking about this profiling assessment which I took this morning. I'm a anti-social at heart yah.

Shopaholic madness

It was just a harmless walk to the ladies after waving thien goodbye. Yet it became a deadly move for a shopaholic. Ended up strolling into this shop called "green petals" near the ladies and bought things. Sigh...
LOoking at the pictures, tell me how can i resist the angel necklace? It's just yelling out "Buy Me!!!" shit. oh.. and in the background is my very first birthday prez! Excluding all the other things I bought for myself pre-and-during GSS. haha. Thank you Thien ^_^ Don't worry about the winter confusion. I love the cardi. very warm and snuggly. I already used it when I was on the train home. haha. Will definitely bring it to Japan too. Maybe take photo when I am on Mount Fuji. haha.

Okie. Countdown 10 more days to Nihon. HOpefully I wont buy any more things. I am really a danger when left alone in the streets.
***
Btw. just saw some really cool youtube videos on dance performances in Tokyo/ Osaka etc. Can't wait to go watch them in person in Japan. totally no mood to work for the remaining 10 days in Singapore liao. sigh. Check out this cool dancer.

Belated - bought boots for japan!

Okay ppl outside waiting for the room ought to be cursing me. Inside the room, i was just going gaga over boots. Couldn't resist taking a shot. Now the question is should i wear it to japan and travel in style? Hmmm.

New exercise regime :)

Now that i'm stopping dance, decided to start new exercise regime... Aka jogging in my fav pair of socks. Ha. Hope to keep it going, if not i'll be so dead when i resume dance again. Oops.
