Photo expedition Chinatown

Had a great photo outing by myself on the PH on 7 Nov. Felt stoned after mugging at Tanjong Pagar Mc and decided to go for a quick photo hunt at Ann Siang Hill. Also partly because I wanted to try out my new panny 20mm lens on my EP2. Guess it was pretty fun. :)

Discovered P.S. Cafe up on Ann Siang Hill, where I also met this elderly photo enthusiast. He could actually tell that I was using a panny lens from some distance away. I was impressed. But being shy, I didn't continue a long conversation with him.

Also discovered Little Drom, where I bought two pins. They are cute! $13 bucks each. BUT I realised some days later that the ink runs. -_-"

Other interesting things? I saw this couple making out at the back of the shophouses, at Ann Siang Hill. It was creepy intimidating. I felt like a trespasser. eeks. I passed by Chinatown and walked up to Liang Court. Decided to buy 1Q84 for a nice long read. It's been a while since I had long reads, the only two being Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, both movie-inspired readings.  Shall start reading after JLPT2 on 4th Dec I guess. Ganbarimasho!

One of the vicious cycles

Had a nice long chat with the girls today, of which we discussed the topic of kids nowadays versus our generation... Couldn't help but think there's a vicious cycle going on, where parents expose their kids to iphone/ ipad etc to keep them occupied so that the parents get some peace themselves; in turn, the children become addicted to these new gadgets and games, and get distracted from school; then parents engage tuition teachers, or maybe even revert to ipad/ iphone for some educational applications to educate their children.

Back in our days, when technology wasn't that advanced, we were better able to focus on our studies it seems. Makes me wonder on the two sides of the "technology advancement" coin. Bliss or not?
