Late Night Supper
wanted to work initiallly but ended up surfing all around... playing with my android etc... doing anything and everything BUT work. dunno why but these few weeks is really low morale/ motivation to work. Seems to happen everytime bosses are not around to push me ahead. sigh. this kinda lousy attitude aint great.
will try to work on one of the doc whatever's left of tonight at least.
In the meantime, I've finally gotten my blogger-android working. It's been frustrating trying to set up the mobile account with the new android. But whew. now that it's up, I feel better already.
Pic of my salad wrap for late night supper.

Officially...
I've finally accomplished what I've set out to do three months ago, i.e. to register for my basic driving theory test. haha. plus I registered for motorbike classes too. Think it's gonna be exciting. woohoo.
BUT! The "journey" to BBDC was super tedious and bizarre. I took one wasted bus trip from Gombak to Batok - kinda missed the bus stop cos I was so unfamiliar with the area. Then I took the same bus back, alighted at the correct stop but ended up walking one big round around NS Academy @Home Team. Along the way, I saw a red snake hissing 1m away from me, a chameleon hanging on the railing etc. super scary. The CSO at the centre was also like one-of-a-kind. She was dozing off when I approached the counter, then she whined to me that she was very sleepy. She basically looked half-awake when she processed my enrolment application etc. Customer service 200% fail already.
Anyway, also to announce that I am officially an ANDROID, as at 23 May 2010.
Chose Milestone over iPhone cos the entry price is so much cheaper, and the camera functions seem much better. Busy exploring the various camera applications. Hopefully I can post some interesting pics up here soon.

I need a strong will...
Feeling terribly sianz at work... had a series of meetings today, even during lunch... it's like the third lunch meeting I had this week. arghh... too many things to clear and procrastination at home doesn't help. I've been surfing all sites, except my work-from-home log-in site. cham lah.
If Doraemon was my friend, I would request to be teleported to Japan NOW NOW NOW... but since that's impossible, I considered other stress busters such as retail therapy... In fact, I was this close to buying a new bag today after work but I backed out in the end because they didn't have a new piece for the bag. I am also falling deep into the iPhone craze because I realise iPhone has this really cool app for photo-taking. So tempting... arghhh... but then again, news of a better iPhone 4G is making me hold back. so many things that I need to do and I am not doing; so many things that I feel like buying and I can't buy.
Sigh. I need a strong will to get me through the next two months.

Countdown to Shanghai 17 July
THIS IS IT! Just booked my air tix for Shanghai in July. I'm going on a trip!!! Woohoo.
something to look forward to... although Jun and I have heard a lot of urban legends which may cause some concerns. For instance,
1. the sweltering heat or the pouring rain?
2. the people in Shanghai do not bathe often... stinko?
3. the sanitary conditions in Shanghai?
4. the long queue outside each pavilion in World Expo?
5. the pickpockets or locals out to extort us?
Wonder if we are being overly suspicious/ cautious... but better to be safe than sorry right? In a way, I'm glad I'll be travelling with a companion. If I lose my belongings/ passport in a foreign land by myself, I wonder how I will react. hmm...

Anyway, I saw Walter (rabbit) today! So HAPPY. haha.

Snapshots of my team-building @Ubin
My colleagues and I headed to Ubin on 30 Apr for a team-building event. It's been a while since I went. The last visit was prob in 2003 when Cher was still organising her urban escape I think.
It was a first time experience for many of us, to kayak in Ubin. And we started our expedition in the hottest time of the day, near 12pm. what started out as a leisure kayak soon turned pretty chaotic as we frantically tried to navigate our way to avoid crashing into mangrove swamps or one another.
I think I will always remember that moment when my boat crashed into one of the trees and JT2 who was sitting in front was covered with all the giant ants, water cockroaches, spiders etc. I had to sweep the ants/ cockroaches off her using my paddle. Some of them got onto me too. It was scary. We got so paranoid with trees after that. yikes. horrid experience.
But the water was pretty cooling lah. some parts (when we were out in the open and without any trees of course) were pretty scenic. And we saw quite a lot of jellyfish. Too bad I didnt manage to catch any on my camera. I do think our paddling caused the jellyfish to have severe head concussion though. ha.
Anyway, at the end of the team-building, everybody was badly sun-burnt. My colleagues still feel the "repercussion" now. One of them took 3 days MC this afternoon cos of sunburn and fears of possible skin infection. Another colleague had swollen ankles and couldn't walk. One of them went to A&E cos her mother-in-law was so worried. All in all, high casualty rate sia. I'm okay cos I'm used to being sunburnt every week liao. That's one good training I suppose. hurhur. :p
Heard from CC that Vietnam's Hanoi Bay is good for kayaking. The water's peaceful and you will get to kayak into limestone caves etc. Sounds tempting. Perhaps I will try kayaking in Vietnam in future...
For the time being, I've settled on Shanghai for my trip in July. Gotta start planning and booking air tix liao. Can't wait actually. Work's crazy cos so many of them out of action. bleah.
