CNY - Huayi Festival 2011



Watched two Huayi Festival performances today. Loved both shows. Chet Lam's was a simple music recital but he was really great with the music. He simply recorded small segments of music, such as clapping, humming, snapping fingers etc and looped these small pieces as accompaniment to his music. Loved the songs "Victoria" and "双子" from his sharing. But I resisted the temptation to buy his cd and get an autograph. hee.

Also watched the Grand Expectations. Out of the three Edward Lam productions that I've watched, I think I liked this the best. Maybe it's the overall feel. Maybe it's what I've got out of this production... Towards the end, I even received a free music CD... thanks to Mr Teo... ha. I'll just take it as a token of appreciation for myself, having supported four events in this year's Huayi Festival.

Looking forward to the next Huayi already... right now, I just feel like ktv-ing the song "你的眼睛"...


P/S This new year, I suddenly realised that most of my elders have aged terribly. Starting with 姑姑, 阿嬷... how their hair have turned white.... If I noticed closely, Dad's and Mum's hair have turned grey too... and this year, Grandma actually forgot to give me hongbao... not so much about the money... but just general sadness at their aging and gradual forgetfulness.... love this new year, because it made me realise much... and created much bonding as well... sadly, the celebrations will come to an end soon and both bros would be off to other parts of the world again. Time to get back on proper business...
